The 2014-15 Season of the Theatre for Young Audiences is set to start with the beloved classic, Knuffle Bunny, A Cautionary Musical.
It sounds so simple, just a quick trip to the Laundromat
in Brooklyn with Daddy, Trixie and her beloved Knuffle Bunny, but before you
know it, things go horribly, hilariously wrong. Chock full of adventure, song
and gigantic dancing laundry, Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical tells a tale of firsts: a stuffed animal's first trip in the laundry, a little
girl's first words and a Daddy's first time dealing with his child going
“boneless.” Based on his beloved Caldecott Honor–winning picture book, six-time
Emmy Award winner Mo Willems. Presented
through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
Auditions
for Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical will be held Monday,
August 4th, at 7pm in the Slidell High Auditorium. The roles
are as follows:
DAD.
An overconfident new father who pretends to be heroic but is truly a bit
incompetent in household maintenance (23-36 years)
MOM. A
new mother who is adjusting to life with child. She is loving caring, and
slightly exasperated. (23-36 years)
TRIXIE. A
16-month child, played by an older child or an adult. A simple
minded-toddler who loves her stuffed bunny and is bright-eyed about the
world. (Female, 8-25 years)
3-5 PUPPETEERS,
who sing and dance in various roles, including a life-size bunny and “The
Pigeon.” (All ages)
Please prepare 16-32 bars of lighted-hearted
music and read a brief passage from your favorite children’s book.
